After graduating from Cheltenham Secondary, Angela pursued her academic journey at Monash University, earning multiple degrees, including a PhD in Computing Education in 2007. Currently, Angela holds the esteemed position of Professor and Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor of Learning, Teaching, and Quality within the STEM College at RMIT University in Australia.

Angela's exceptional leadership abilities have been evident throughout her career, having served as Dean of Learning Innovation in the Faculty of Science Engineering and Technology (FSET) at Swinburne University of Technology for 3 years. Additionally, she held the vital role of Director of Education Excellence at Monash University, where she played a key role in shaping the university's education strategy, policies, procedures, and implementation.

As a globally recognized expert in higher education, Angela has been instrumental in driving curriculum reform, implementing innovative pedagogical practices, and enhancing the techno-pedagogical capacity of academics.

Professor Carbone's teaching prowess has earned her national recognition, being the first female academic to receive Australia's highest teaching award, the Prime Minister's Award for University Teacher of the Year in 1998. She also secured two National Teaching Fellowships (2010, 2012), making her the first female academic in the STEM discipline from Monash University to achieve this feat.

Angela's dedication to enhancing education extends beyond her own institution. For the past five years, she has taken on the role of Director of the Australian Awards for University Teaching, a prestigious position appointed by Universities Australia.

Angela's impressive achievements and lasting contributions to the field of education continue to inspire and empower educators and learners alike.
