At our recent Athletics Carnival, our VCAL students kept our students fuelled by cooking a BBQ and selling drinks. The VCAL team had decided that all funds raised would go to the Salvation Army.

So yesterday, we headed down to The Salvation Army Kingston City in Dingley and presented a cheque to Major Jennifer Cloke. The students were shown around the facility and heard about all the good work Jennifer and her team do for community members in need.

Jennifer was amazed at the donation amount and how it came from a fundraising BBQ. She told the students that funds would cover 2 weeks of shopping for perishable goods like milk, bread and fresh fruits and vegetables for those in need.
